The Ugly Scene Behind Calvary
Before Christ was nailed to the cross, there were many behind-the-scenes events. When someone loves you, they are giving and not taking. If I were to give Jesus's argument, either he was crazy or everything was true.
The fact that we call it Resurrection implies that something had to die. You cannot have this day without understanding the life and burial of Jesus Christ. They say that Christianity is a bloody religion. Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin. By Christ's stripes, we are healed.
When Jesus said, “Why, how thou forsaken me,” it was a representation of Jesus as the scapegoat. Here is the Savior who believes He has been left alone at the Garden of Gethsemane. When the soldiers took him to the high priest, they could find no fault in Him. They took Jesus to six different courts. They held them at night, which was against the law. They violated the court in an attempt to kill Jesus.
The Lord does not always bring unity. Sometimes, He comes to separate the goats from the sheep. Christ was not only under mental strain when they placed the thorn on His head; He was continuing to bleed. Crucifixion was designed to prolong a painful death. That is why they were surprised that Christ died so quickly. When they nailed Jesus, they used an inch nail into the cross. Jesus was on the cross for six hours, which represents man. During this time, He would not come down because He knew we needed a pathway into God. He is burying the sins of the world.
